Lavender Letters is a new and unique way to enjoy a story! Instead of "binging" a book, only to rush off to the next one, Lavender Letters invites you to slow down, turn the clocks back to the days when writing letters was the only option people had to communicate.

During the era of Westward Expansion, people were leaving their homes with high expectations and the complete understanding they may never see their loved ones again.

The Westward Bound Series follows along for six seasons- one following the other- of six brave women and their stories told through letters and diary entries.

Two letters per month for 13 months and at the end, a completed novel telling the story from a completely different perspective!

Meet the Author

Elizabeth Bourgeret

Elizabeth is the author of six fiction novels and two non-fiction books. She's created and hosted an American history podcast called Bag of Bones, and is happiest when she is creating and traveling.

Her favorite type of travel is through camping. She says she likes to be up close and personal with nature and doesn't want to miss a thing along the journey to a destination.

In 2021 and 2022, she traveled West along several "routes" considered the "Oregon Trail" to store up research for this upcoming series.

Can I order this as a gift?

YES! Absolutely! The Lavender Letters are a PERFECT gift! It's so much more than a "one and done"! This gift keeps giving for a full year! Just let us know that it is meant as a gift, and we will send them a special Gift Package with an explanation of the amazing gift they have received and by whom! They will also receive a few goodies to get them started.

This makes a perfect gift for those who love to read historical fiction and just don't need another knickknack!

Every time they go to their mailbox, they will think of you. This gift/experience won't be quickly forgotten!

Are these stories for all ages?

No. The stories inside the Westbound Series would qualify as a PG-13 rating. There are some characters and subject matter that would not be suitable for young readers. Life in the 1800s was hard, and the stories reflect that in realistic, yet not gratuitous ways, so there are some things that may be unsettling. Some topics that may be sprinkled in may include: alcoholism, child abuse, child labor, slavery, war, racism, cruelty, disease. (Not all in one story, but could be included in any of the series.)

Is there more than one story?

This is a subscription model. Everyone starts with Rosie's Story and after the novel is delivered, you'll automatically roll into the next story (Addison). You can, of course, cancel at any time. And a reminder is sent out before the next season begins. There are six more to follow that are already in the works.

By the time you are finished with this series, Addison will be there waiting... This group of six women's stories create the Westward Bound Series.

You will be able to continue your series and the new story will automatically be sent, or you can cancel at any time.

Can I just order the book?

The Lavender Letters was created to make the experience of reading a book a much more in depth and longer lasting adventure. The whole idea is not to rush, but give in to the experience.

Therefore, the book will not be made available for sale on any other platform for at least five years... and can only be acquired by mail at the finale of the twelve-month journey.

Cruel? Maybe, lol, but that's how much we care about your full immersion into the depths of each story. Take your time... slow down... enjoy the journey out West...
